INT means Interior

EXT means Exterior

For flashbacks you could do something like

quote:
Bob's words seem to have an odd effect on John, who remembers....

INT. Minimart - flashback

Treat is as a separate scene

Write it however you feel it needs to be written.

After you right something go back and read it like you were an actor reading it for the first time. If something isn't worded right or just doesnt feel good then change it.

Every time the location changes there should be a new heading. If a character simply walks inside don't use a transition (CUT TO, DISSOLVE TO, etc.) and on the heading write "CONTINUOUS" for the time, like this.

EXT. JOHN'S HOUSE -- NOON

JOHN is standing in his backyard cooking some hamburgers on a red barbeque grill.

JOHN
Crap I left my sweet-ass barbeque sauce inside.

JOHN places his tongs on the grill and walks toward the back door.

INT. JOHN'S HOUSE -- CONTINUOUS

JOHN walks through the back door, to the counter, and picks up a bottle of barbeque sauce.

JOHN
Damn I love my sweet-ass barbeque sauce.

ignore the dialogue formatting, it isn't right
