FADE IN

INT. HAYDEN’s APPARTMENT – NIGHT

CAMERA.NOTE: camera opening scene at a cigarette being lit up.

Hayden is in his apartment, waiting for his girl friend to call after being on a break. He keeps looking at his cell phone, and moving it around, he lights up a cigarette.


HAYDEN (v.o)
Aahh…what is she going to lie about now…?...hate going through this again..i don’t get why she does that, ive always loved her, why does she force herself to live lies..and like an idiot that I am , I always forgive her..this time I should walk away, she hurt me enough..no..i love her, i need to prove to her that by not giving up on her and stand by her.

Cell phone rings, Hayden answers

CAMERA.NOTE: Hayden is shot from the right side, and Mariana is shot in a room where you see her lips only.

HAYDEN
Hey Mariana…

MARIANA
(aggressively)
Hey...we’ll, ive thought about it…I don’t want you anymore Hayden.

HAYDEN
Mariana, you told me you just needed that time to relax, not to leave me..why are we doing this again

MARIANA
Look Hayden, I don’t love you anymore..dont you get it? That’s why I keep hurting you, so you can go away

HAYDEN
(voice getting sad)
You keep swearing you love me and now you say you dont…Mariana, we talked about marrying each other, about babies…why throw all those nice things away b.c of some mood swings ur having. Honey please, don’t make us go through this again and hurt each other all over..

MARIANA
(rushing)
I don’t care anymore, im over you, I want something different…and I already found someone that listens.

HAYDEN
Please don’t lie about this again just to see me hurt, stop being so sick and demented. I know its not true, we love each other for so long, …your not so cheap to see me like a pair of shoes your bored of..

MARIANA
Well it’s the truth if you like it or not... i know I lied to you about a lot of things the time we were together, but I have no reason to lie anymore… get over it… I don’t want you anymore…

HAYDEN
Honey please, I can do whatever you want, as long as we love each other, things can be ok. All I want from you is just to be nice like you were before…

MARIANA
(interrupts)
I don’t want you anymore, I want new people in my life, I don’t want to marry your or anything…that was when I loved you, now I’m over you. I just got back with you b.c I was horny…and I know I swore I loved you, but isn’t that what you wanted to hear?

HAYDEN
Please…don’t start… you promised you wouldn’t lie anymore, I’m stressed out enough that it is, You wouldn’t just go back with me for that.

MARIANA
Ya I did, and I get it now from someone else… get over it Hayden, Bye.

Mariana hangs up the phone call.

HAYDEN
No honey, wait please…

CAMERA.NOTE:1- The camera moves from the right to the left in a 180 degree motions, with multiple shots of Hayden calling back.
2- Show Mariana as the phone rings crying b.c she lied.


Hayden keeps calling Mariana back, but she doesn’t answer.

Mariana is in her room crying.

Hayden puts the phone on the table; he notices a picture of him and Mariana happy together. He looks at it in an angry way and throws it back on the table.

His eyes glance up to see in front of the picture, a projector, with a film reel that says “Ballet audition 2000.”

Hayden sits down on a chair, next to the table where the projector is and plays the film; he lights up another cigarette.

Hayden watches the film. Him and Mariana dancing, with operatic music in the background.

MUSIC NOTE: operatic music fades out then voice over begins. In comes the piano of the climactic music (main theme.

HAYDEN (v.o)
I feel so paralyzed. I tried letting go before and I couldn’t..i just love her so much… The sad thing is, it takes so little time to fall inlove, but it takes a lifetime to forget that love. It drives you insane. you dont realize how much you love someone until they dont love you anymore. Trying to forget someone you love is like trying to remember someone you never knew. All I have now of happy memories, of us together, is dancing our days through love.

CAMERA.NOTE: Multiple cuts of the dancing sequence, with the main theme music and of Hayden watching on the chair, shaking.

The dance sequence ends with a kiss. Hayden turns the lights on.

Hayden is 30 years older, with white hair, and everything around is dirty and dusty, with an ashtray full of cigarettes.

Hayden breaks down crying uncontrollably. His hands are rubbing his chest, near his heart feeling pain

HAYDEN
(crying)
I miss you so much…

CAMERA.NOTE: The camera moves from the front of Hayden to the right side seeing him crying, (the camera walks away from him). Then the camera moves behind his back as it goes backwards.

Hayden is sitting on the chair, with a cigarette hanging from his hands. You hear him in pain, then silence. The cigarette falls out of his hand.


FADE OUT.
