are you still working on this? I'd build the walls with a 1x3 frame with studs every 18". Then, put some tall (10-12") wooden base board on the walls. See if you can work it out so the when the walls push the furniture, they only come in contact with the base board. Then you won't have any problems with the walls breaking and you can use 1/8" masonite to sheet the walls. Otherwise, you'll need to use 3/8" flake board or larger (which'll cost more). To move the actual walls, put them on casters (for stabilization, also make outriggers with casters). There you go. It shouldn't cost you more than a hundred or two in supplies for a reasonably sized room. If this doesn't work, have you thought of other ways to do it? Like pulling the furniture together with monofiliment line. Or maybe do it stop motion. Or, can you do it as a miniature? ...just some 'out of the box' ideas. best fortune Joren www.jorenclark.com"In the beginner's mind there are many possibilities, but in the expert's mind there are few. I probably will need two forms of this set: *A real 10X10 room *A CG model That way I have more shooting options...

why do you need to build your own? Just curious, but I'm sure you can find a building that has a room like that. Any reason why you are being so specific?

This one set is all part of a much larger picture... Im trying to build a permanent, concrete base for all my future sets. If I buy 20 white partition walls, I can decorate them and make 4 complete sets. Then when I want to use a set, I just grab 5 walls to any set and "stick" them in the slots in the base. Put anything down for flooring. (Floors dont have to be decorated.) My plan is to have sliders on the concrete base so you can slide the side walls in and make the room whatever size I want it. Im asking for advice on How to make this. How to lay the tracks on a concrete base, how to put slots for walls, etc... I am working with a construction guy a little bit here...
