Alright. IN the past few days i've come up with 2 ideas for a movie. And the same thing happened to both of them; at first, i'm really excited and i think its awesome. Scenes start flowing into my head and the story practically tells intself. Then i start disecting it and saying, well that doesn't make sense, or, would they really do that? And eventually, i just dont' know if it's a good idea or if it even makes sense! Someone please help me.

It happens to the best of us.

Tell us what the basic ideas are and we'll be glad to tear them to pieces for you.

That happened to me too at first, but just don't quit on your idea and make changes so that it will make sense, but still find a way to keep all of the good stuff you thought of, but don't give up on your idea cause you never know.

Dude, think of any movie made between the 70's and mid 80's and ask yourself, "does this make sense?"....c'mon, its a movie, you're not supposed to be thinking, you're too busy watching to be thinking. But chill, like EDM said, it happens to everybody.

the idea i'm working on now is basically about these two people; one of them is trying to find their 'purpose' or 'meaning' in life, and the other is dealing with the typical stress of being a teenager (problems finding yourself, fear of being rejected, and obsession with material posession). There stories start out totally seperate, and they cross eachother at the end of the movie and ultimatly help eachother overcome their issues. But, since it's such a 'deep' idea, i don't know how to approach it, u know? I keep asking, is this really what this person would do?

I would try to hold off the dissecting until after you've completed your script. Letting words pour out of you onto the page, taking a ride on a train of thought as far as it takes you, sleeping on your ideas, and then coming back to revise and pore over the material in front of you, and then write some more, is how the best authors write. If you're not confident, uninhibited and fully focused as you bang out the first draft of your script, it will show, believe me, and no amount of subsequent drafts will fully fix it.
