Hey everyone. As you may have read, my next film is going to be a 100 minute feature set in Europe during WWII.

I was wondering if anybody knows anybody who would be interested in constructing weapon props for us. What I mean is they would need to construct 1 M1A1 Thompson, 1 M1 Carbine, 1 BAR, 1 M1 Garand and whatever else we need. These would need to be made out of Metal and Wood, and have moving parts. Then they would need to create molds of each and make resin replicas.

We are going to be offering probably $1,000 to $2,000. Email me if you are interested.

jessetarnoff@yahoo.com

We need these to look real, but they dont need to fire or eject shell casings. The metal and wood versions would need to be able to switch ammo magazines, and each gun would need a couple magazines. Let me know if anybody can do this!

Thank you.
Jesse Tarnoff

You know, with $1000-2000 you could probably rent those guns from someplace in hollywood (trust me, there are TONS of prop stores that are extremely unique for many film settings). Who knows, I could be wrong (about the stores and/or about the potential cost). It doesn't seem like you need that many guns, and I'm sure some of those guns (actual ones from WWII) still exist. (My grandfather has his pistol and rifle from WWII). Check around.

In October, I started making a WWI film about Canadian soldiers. We had to rent a couple uniforms, and guns, and some German uniforms. I think in the beginning we had a total of 5 complete Canadian uniforms, including rifles, helmets, and all that jazz, and 1 full German uniform with rifles and all that included for about $755 Canadian. This was after taxes too, but as production went on we went up to about $1100. The place we rented from was IMS (International Movie Services) and they have all sorts of Army gear, ranging from all the different eras and police gear, and just all sorts of gear. I think their website is www.ims.com, but I will have to check and get back to you on that one. I'll find it and I'll post it. Here are some shots from our movie though...

Keep us updated about your movie as well, Jesse. Me and some buddies are also planning to do a short or something like a war movie. So keep us informed and updated, I'd be glad to hear it!
