Hey I got an idea for a movie; let me know what you think. Ok, so its a futuristic movie and the city is in trouble. Theres crime and bad things happen. Then a new pres comes in office and vows to help the country, esp. this city (kinda reminds you of hitler huh?) Well then he forces all the imperfect and ugly people under the streets to live, kinda like in sewers. So they go and the sequel takes place twenty yrs later and we see how the below ground people now live and the changes they made. They are angered they live how they live, yet they dont do anything. There is a small group of rebel teens who have seen the above world and want to be a part of it. They end up getting a revolution started... and thats where I am going to end this b/c I dont want to give away too much. But what do you think so far? Does it have the possbility of being a trilogy? Anything I should add? Thanks for your feedback.
I'd need to know a lot more about the scope of this project to give you any good feedback. Short, or feature? What's your budget, and experience, and how unique and fresh is it going to be? It could easily be terrible, but it could also be pretty cool.

It's going to be a feature shot on HD and go straight to DVD unless I somehow get a theater deal. I plan to make this movie in a few years after I gain some more exp. Right now I make short films and used Final Cut Pro, and some other software. the buget will be in the millions, yet not as much as a Hollywood movie.
In that case... hell yeah! Just make sure it's not trite or cliched or the same old stuff recycled. Make it fresh and new, and yeah, spend those millions well
I was worried it was going to be a bunch of kids fooling around with a DV camera... and then it would have sucked.

Thanks. I was wondering if you had any ideas I could add into the movie b/c I was hoping to make it a trilogy. Annd wheres a good place to buy or rent HD cameras? Thanks again.
When are you planning on making this movie? I take it that you don't have millions to spend on a movie right now, and getting to that point is quite difficult. Nonetheless, good luck. Also, B&Hphotovideo.com is probably the most well known and reputable internet camera company. Search cnet or google for better prices though, because B&H, while definately legit, isn't always the cheapest (still cheaper than a regular store like Best Buy though).

I don't have ideas right off the bat, but I think that for a project that ambitious you really need to be in a position where you're not short on ideas. If writing isn't your thing, find an awesome writer to help you. You owe it to your movie

I think someone needs to redefine/go against the usual feel and style of all the bleak futuristic movies.
(Just like all the space-themed films have the same visual style and feel. Who made the rule that every space-ship command deck had to have walls and walls of monitors and flickering lights?)
I think a new twist would be refreshing and exciting.

it reminds me of that one book series by like: Ann Magaret, or something called "the hidden." They were unwanted kids who were forced to live underground....

It's set in the future, it deals with people forced underground because they're outcast from the system, you see the changes they made, they're angered they have to live that way (in Zion), a revolution is started...
I think you're just going by the same paradigm every other futuristic rebel movie goes by. I wouldn't spend millions on it either, sorry. Children of Men also follows this type of thing. I'm sure there's tons of other movies that do as well. Maybe try to add your own thing...?
