I'm not sure if this is the proper forum to place this posting...if not, lemme know where to move it to!
I am going to be making a movie for my college's annual film festival this coming school year (chances are the festival is in the spring again this time, I could be wrong though). I'm looking for an interesting script to make the movie out of. By interesting, I mean...well, here's some movies I'm thinking along the lines of:
A Prairie Home Companion Mind The Gap Punch Drunk Love Derailed Fargo Pieces of April
I don't want a script that is exactly like on of these examples or that is a parody or anything. I just want something in the style/feel of that kind of movie.
Anyway, if there any student screenwriters out there with a script they would love to see another fellow student turn into a movie for a film festival, please send it over so I can take a look - timjahn@gmail.com
Thanks!! - Tim

How long does the film have to be (ie. 5 mins, 10 mins, anything over that)? Also, do you have any restrictions in terms of special effects, actors, locations, budget, etc?

Hmm..good point! These are things you guys need to know!
The film should be no longer than 5 min. Regarding any restrictions, I am a college student. The movie will be made in central Illinois (we have lots of farmland and cornfields!) so that may play in well. I have not decided when I will be making the movie (as I do not have the exact date of the festival yet) but you can safely assume it will either during fall or winter.
I will be using theatre students as actors and the only budget I have is my own pocket (so like none!).
Lemme know if there's anything else ya need to know!

You got farmland? Make a western... its one of those genres that has kind of faded away and it would be awesome if you could bring it back with a new spin on a cowboy story.
and no i dont mean broke back mountain 2

i can try to write you something this week while i am at work as long as I get writing credit. I might not go with a cowboy idea cuz i would do a crappy job at that lol. DO you want comedy or drama or wut and you said you are going to shoot in winter or are you not positive... let me know and I'll get to work!

A drama would be nice. Something offbeat, unique, not the regular old stupid drama. Think outside the box I will be shooting in the coming winter months.
