Okay, so me and my partner are in pre-production for a film that could cost a bit of dough, but our problem is that we don't have any, per se. We're interested in getting investors, and I'm wondering how that whole thing works, sort of. Anyone care to enlighten me on how to go about obtaining and then dealing with investors?

Hmmm...well let's say you're movie is about anti drugs. You can go to antidrug organizations and theyll help you. If you have a film degree they might be a little more comfortable. So whatever your theme is - use it.

Remeber this, Investors don't give donations. The common investor invests in something if he feels that he will make at least 30% proffit from what he invests in. You will need convince an investor that he is going to make some sort of proffit off of the product you are producing.

If this is not something that appeals as an option to yourself, I would look for donations, or trade-outs. This may work better. It means less money from one person, but it may be easier to get more people to donate then Investos to invest.

Just some food for film-thought. Good luck to you on this endevour!
