First things first, I have absolutely no film training whatsoever, if I ask a silly question please be gentle. Second I have never used a message board before either, so if I make a mistake please correct me(I do learn quickly).

Now for the issue, I have an idea of what I want the end product to be but have no map to get me there. I have read some of the articles here and I think that the place to start is to write a script. I have never seen a script in my life and wouldnt know a well written script from a comic book. Would someone please give me some pointers or inform me where to find examples.

well just start writing ideas down, once you get them all figured out, you could go to drews script o rama, (i forget the website, just google it) and learn how to format it, and welcome to sf.com

This book is terrific. Screenwriting is really something you should read a good book on before getting started and that one will more than do the job. It has all the great techniques for making sure your story flows right, and coming up with plot outlines and stuff.
