Not that I plan on writing it now or even any time soon, but has a movie ever been made about a lonely or slightly disturbed postman who reads people's letters instead of delivering them (Not all of them, but you get my drift)? Anything close this? Thanks.

Cy-the-postal-guy! It sounds like a similar story line to ONE HOUR PHOTO (letters instead of photos), but it could be interesting. I don't know that I've seen that specifically.

Yea One Hour Photo comes to mind right away... wouldn't pass as original. Though in an industry that made Kangaroo Jack, even rip offs are a welcome relief

so true . . . so true . . .

Anyways, if you play with the script right you could probably make it LOOK original. Give him an original reason to read the letters. Not he's lonely, not he wants revenge.
I can't think of anything off the top of my head to replace it, but I'm sure you could come up with something.

well the difference is the main character isnt a sniveling douchebag like the main character of One Hour Photo. God damn Robin Williams pissed me off in that.

But really though, Im not going for he's obsessed with a family or a person. Something more like he begins to read letters from this one person to this other person, perhaps interprets it wrong, maybe he thinks this one person is in trouble, consipracy theories, etc.

Im not going for the audience seeing him as disturbed, like in photo. I meanlike the audience is sort of with him, although he gets caught up in this world of letters. You know what I mean? The lonliness isnt ultra played up, it's just clear that he doesnt have much in his life, and how tempting must it be to handle thousands of letters a day and not be able to open one? It's believable that someone with nothing really in their life would sooner or later give in. Besides, the postal service is ****ing crazy anyway, we all know that (going "postal", etc.)

There's also an indie short film I've seen called "Pushing the Envelope" that has the same idea of a mailman reading people's mail. In this one, the mailman is trying to stop someone from commiting suicide because he thinks he was charged by God at an early age to save someone later in life.

Good stuff.

just have him read love letters, and then one day, he starts getting love letters addressed to him, but he has no idea who is writing them, so he tries to figure it out by the women on his route.
