Alright, What would you include in a script if there were no dialog?

Just the slug lines/camera moves/etc?

Working on experimental silent film...

Any help would be appreciated!

If you're submitting the screenplay or showing others, you don't put camera movements in a screenplay. For a silent script, it would be just scene headings and action lines. No big deal because screenplays are normally mostly scene headings and action lines--well, good screenplays are. Show it, don't say it.

If this screenplay is for your personal use, who cares what others think you should do? Make it however will benefit you best. Write it out in Haiku form if you want.

I'm doing the same thing; my first three films at NYFA will be silent films. I kind of think just get your ideas on paper. Describe what’s happening in each scene, I don't think it's necessary to include the exact camera angles and movement, just because all that stuff changes depending on the lighting, the location, etc. Also you’re the writer and director, you don't need everything on paper, you have probably already visualized everything. But this is just my opinion, do whatever you want

No real need to write a screenplay if no lines are spoken. Just make a storyboard.

I generally approach this the same way I would any other screenplay, I just leave out the dialogue. It's actually a great excercise in visual storytelling that was handed down to me by another filmmaker. But I suppose you can do it any way that works for you. Don't worry so much about how it looks, just get it done. In fact my first movie was more of an idea in my head that I just kept playing over and over until it sort of fermented. The rest was having two cool brothers who put up with all my snivelling insecurities and chipped in with ideas. That and happy accidents. Good luck.
