I'm trying to start filming my movie but I can never get the whole cast for the scene we're filming together on one day. And the day that I finally did it rained really hard and the whole scene is outside in the woods. What is the best way to schedule this sort of thing?
Also I need to film some scenes at my school. Some are in a classroom while a class is going on. Some are in the hallway while kids are walking around. And one (I think just one) is(/are) in the school gym. Also some are outside the school. How would I go about getting permission to do this? I was thinking of asking if I could keep kids after school that would like to be in it (as well as the cast) and filming after hours so as not to get in the way or skip classes. Any ideas?
Find a new cast that can do whatever you ask them to whenever you ask.
It sounds like a pain, and like a lot of trouble, and it is, but that's what you have to do. When you're making a movie, it doesn't matter if Nicole Kidman wants to be in your student short, if she can't do it the same day everyone else can, find someone else to do it.
That's why there's billions of actors that show up for one job. They know a lot of actors won't be able to make the commitment on the days needed of them.

I think officialy to shoot at school you would be requires go to the school system board or at least the administration of the schoool, but then they will most likely say no, so you shouldn't do that. You should just go to decent teachers and ask to use there classrooms/the gym after school.

I don't know about all of you, but if Nicole Kidman wanted to be in my movie, I would literally do anything to make sure that she would be in it. ANYTHING.
I don't knwo about ANYTHING, but I would sure spend a whole lot of time to get her there!

I had that problem... not the nicole kidman one but the actors one.
In the end I dropped 3 characers from my film, bought a gas mask and made my remaining lead actor play two roles, one with the mask and one without. Whenever we needed to shoot a two shot, I played the character in the mask. It worked because we had the same body shape, being brothers and all. Damn actors!
