We are searching for short films in the 2 to 3 minute range, that have an extreme WOW factor to them.

This is a paying gig and NOT a film festival or competition. We are looking for truly talented filmmakers both seasoned pros and amateurs with a good track record.

Visit us at portalcastfilms.com
and find out more on this great opportunity. Look at our PRESS ROOM for the latest Press release.
Best of success,
Portalcast Films

I'm beginning to wonder if we're the odd ones here, not allowing duplicate postings Wink

Anyways, what is the pay? What happens to the short film? Do filmmakers retain rights? This sounds interesting.

Mr. Titanium,

All good questions and even better moderation. Sorry about the duplication thing. My PR person is a maniac.

Films are broadcast on our proprietary entertainment network for 3 to 6 months at a time. The network consists of digital portals spread throughout the US and eventually Canada and Europe. Unlike many other services, such as websites and film festivals, when your film is chosen by Portalcast for exhibition on their network, it won’t be lost amid the clutter.

The Portalcast showcasing of your film(s) is an excellent opportunity for both industry pros and up-and-coming filmmakers to stand above the field. Your films are spotlighted alongside only the best talent. We can be a platform for your work to be seen by film directors, producers, editors, writers and other industry veterans. Our goal is to promote your work and give you high visibility.

Filmmaker compensation agreements are offered on an individual basis and are based on how long a film runs on the network and how popular it is.
I hope this helps,
EJ

Thanks for the answers Smile

What exactly IS a "digital portal"?

Does the individual filmmaker have to approve an agreement before any distribution takes place?

Here's some additional info for you.
Individuals and companies submitting films to Portalcast must own copyrights to the film(s) and possess all clearances. This includes, but is not limited to, the screenplay, music, primary and third-party trademarks. In addition, you must not be entered in any agreement which prohibits you from granting non-exclusive broadcast rights. Please see MOTION PICTURE SUBMISSION AGREEMENT and MOTION PICTURE CLEARANCE CHECKLIST forms.

Portalcast will not accept films deemed as adult-oriented, pornographic or illegal. The film content must not be obscene, invade privacy rights, exploit the images of individuals under the age of eighteen (18), or in any way violate state or federal laws.

All films must be suitable for viewing by all audiences.

Filmmakers under 18 years of age require a parent or legal guardian to review and sign our MOTION PICTURE SUBMISSION AGREEMENT and MOTION PICTURE CLEARANCE CHECKLIST forms..

Submitting a film doesn’t guarantee that it will be included in our programming.

All submissions are screened by our programming panel to assure they meet all Portalcast content requirements and guidelines. Films are judged on their WOW factor. Does the audience walk away from the film with a sense of awe or a question of “how’d they do that?” If the panel agrees that’s true, more than likely your film will move on to screening and final judging by our committee of producers, directors, filmmakers, studio executives and screenwriters. Submitting a film doesn’t guarantee that it will be included in our programming.

We would require non-exclusive commercial distribution rights for broadcasting on our network and website. The term would be three years. Submitting a film is not binding. The rights we require are non-exclusive, thereby allowing you to enter into other agreements for distribution.

Digital Portals are kiosks with high resolution screens. These kiosks are set up on a broadband backbone and controlled from one central location.

Please see our web site for additional information. portalcastfilms.com Visit the FILMMAKER Q&A page for additonal commonly asked questions and their answers.
