The Sacramento Film and Music Festival Call for Submissions - DEADLINE POSTMARKED BY JUNE 21!

The Sacramento Film and Music Festival is now accepting film and video submissions for the year 2004. The festival, which has showcased over 140 films along with 22 live music performances, will take place the second weekend of August at the historic Crest Theatre in downtown Sacramento. Screenings will be both competition and non-competition, along with special screenings for locally produced material.
The deadline for all submissions is June 21st, 2004. For selection and programming consideration, the festival accepts ½” VHS (not BetaSP) videocassette transfers, DVD and MiniDV.

For submission purposes, festival programmers will consider films submitted before completion (i.e., rough cuts, Avid outputs, temporary sound mixes, etc.). However, programmers will not consider trailers or other promotional videos for selection purposes.


Submitted films will be selected in two categories:

(1) Features: Any film or video totaling at least 60 minutes in length.

(2) Shorts: Any film or video totaling fewer than 60 minutes in length.


There will be a discounted entry fee offered to films submitted early (must be postmarked by April 20th, 2004). This discounted rate includes $20 per entry for films under 60 minutes (shorts); $30 per entry for films 60 minutes and over (features). NOTE: Submissions received between April 21st - June 21st, 2004 will be $25 for shorts and $35 for features. The final deadline for all film submissions is June 21st, 2004.
