Trinity Western University's Student Organized Film Association (SOFA) announces the launch of the 1st Annual Genesis Film Festival which is scheduled to take place on March 26 -27, 2004. In conjunction with the Trinity Western University Student Association (TWUSA) and NOWTV, this event is open to filmmakers and spectators both on campus and in the community. Prizes from The Genesis Film Festival will be awarded in many categories including: Best Actress, Best Actor, Best Director, The Audience Award, The Hazon Award (Visionary) and the Redemptive Award. Open to filmmakers both on and off campus, it is a hope that Genesis will grow to rival other established film festivals in the years to come.
