The Open APPerture Short Film Festival is dedicated to the art of the short film, and the expression of independent filmmakers. In its third year, the Open APPerture Short Film Festival has created a venue for both student and professional filmmakers to showcase their work; the festival will also act as a path for filmmakers in the Appalachian region to connect with one another. In addition, professional filmmakers will be in attendance to speak about the industry, personal films, and submitted work.
