If you've made your own independent movie and you'd like to see it screened at a real film festival, you should consider submitting to The Mini-Cinema Film Festival. Created in the mold of the "for the people" stance taken by the Tromadance Film Festival, Mini-Cinema is a completely free film festival, meaning there are no entry fees to filmmakers or cover charges to film fans. Held semi-annually at the Book N Bean house of coffee in Fairmont, WV since 2003, the festival has screened films from all over the world and from all genres and circles of filmmaking. Mini-Cinema welcomes the up-and-coming filmmakers right alongside the independent efforts of established film personalities and is open to all genres. It truly is a festival the caters to filmmakers and the connoisseurs of indepedent art. In 2004, The Mini-Cinema Film Festival was listed among "the rest of the best" North American film festivals in FilmThreat creator Chris Gore's Ultimate Film Festival Survival Guide.
Submissions are being accepted for the next event (which will be held in late-February or March 2006; dates TBA) up until January 31st, 2006. Shorts and features are accepted, but to be honest, because of our lack of availible time slots, short films have a much better chance of being selected than features.
If you are interested in submitting, then please visit the official website at http://www.minicinema.co.nr and please make sure to have your films postmarked by January 31st!
