The mission of the Gotham City International Film & Video Festival is to provide a meaningful forum in which aspiring filmmakers can communicate their vision.

In addition, this festival is dedicated to promoting New York City, its businesses, neighborhoods and people; embracing and enhancing the revitalization efforts of
downtown Manhattan and other emerging areas throughout the city; strengthening arts and education within New York City; and highlighting New York City as the premiere location for the production of independent film.

The 2006 festival will feature 10 feature length films in non-competitive exhibition, and 40 short films and 5 music videos in competitive exhibition.
