The Sacramento Film and Music Festival's Call for Submissions THREE WEEKS LEFT
The Sacramento Film and Music Festival is now accepting film and video submissions for the year 2003. The festival, which has showcased over 100 films along with 19 live music performances, will take place the second weekend of August at the historic Crest Theatre in downtown Sacramento. Screenings will be both competition and non-competition, along with special screenings for locally produced material.
The deadline for all submissions is June 16th, 2003. For selection and programming consideration, the festival accepts DVD, ½" VHS (NTSC), PAL (B/G, I, D/K), SECAM (B/G, I, D/K), PAL-M, PAL-N, NTSC4.43, Super VHS and MESECAM transfers. If a submitted film originated as a 16mm or 35mm print and is selected, we will then require that optimal format for presentation. Again, if selected, we will then require the optimal digital video format for presentation.
For submission purposes, festival programmers will consider films submitted before completion (i.e., rough cuts, Avid outputs, temporary sound mixes, etc.). However, programmers will not consider trailers or other promotional videos for selection purposes.
Submitted films will be selected in three categories:
(1) Features: Any film or video totaling at least 60 minutes in length.
(2) Shorts: Any film or video totaling fewer than 60 minutes in length.
(3) Sacramento Produced: Any film or video wholly or partially produced in the Sacramento area. Consideration for this category will be determined by the festival programmers based upon submission information. [Note: Sacramento Produced films are also eligible in the Feature and Short categories.]
The entry fee for films under 60 minutes (shorts) is $20. The entry fee for films 60 minutes and over (features) is $30.
