Question:
I just watched Alien 3 for the fourth time in my life, and it still hasn't gotten any better. The work print is a little bit more interesting, but for whatever reason they green screened all of the aliens and it looks like crap. Regardless, I forgot that Bishop makes his return at the end, and it appears he is supposed to be a human. However, in Alien Vs. Predator (spoiler) he dies. AVP takes place way before Alien 3. Whats your take on it?

I think he's an android, since it shouldn't be too difficult to make an android that has a subcutaneous layer of red stuff resembling blood. Also, he seems just fine after taking a very hard wrench shot to his skull. If it were me, or any other normal human, I'd be horizontal after a shot like that. Bishop seemed just fine.

It is David Fincher's worst, with simply piss poor SFX and plot holes galore, yet it's still not the weakest in the series. That's a dishonor saved for both Alien 4 and AVP. They got progressively worse. I cringe at the thought of Alien V, but if Ridley Scott decides to do it, I'll watch it.

Choices:
android
human

A) I'm pretty positive he's an android.

B) Alien 2 is my favorite, Alien 3 Frown but still not as HORRIBLE as Alien 4. Someone actually told me they enjoyed and well... Frown

AvP was'nt really in keeping with the series, so not sure if you can tie that in with the plot all that much.

Did you watch the Special Edition or the Theatrical of Alien 3?

I prefer Alien to Aliens, but Aliens used to be my favorite in the series. I saw Alien in the movies around Halloween a few years ago, and seeing it on the big screen really made me appreciate it that much more. It's now my favorite in the series. It's so extremely well made from every aspect, and I just never got that from seeing it on the small screen.

AvP wasn't keeping with the series, but it was made with Charles Bishop Weyland in it, which really pisses me off. That movie could've been so god damn good. I was so psyched for it, and I wanted to like it so badly, but it was so stupid. It would've been good if:

a. Paul W.S. Anderson stayed far away, and someone with common sense directed it, like Ridley Scott or James Cameron.
b. It didn't mess up continuity, and it had Weyland live and freeze himself to further provide evidence that he could be human in Alien 3, or better yet, allow it to take place after Alien 3 to completely eliminate this obstacle all together.
c. Peter Weller and his cameo as Yutani (I love Peter Weller)
d. It didn't take place on earth
e. It was less action based, and a little more suspense based, like Alien and Aliens

Honestly, it is a logical idea that a decent movie could've really come out of. I hated that the Predator and the human because good friends, I hated that Bishop died, I hated that the end was exactly like Jurassic Park, and I hated the continuity errors. If they didn't want to be chastised for messing up continuity, they could've made Bishop an android and made someone else in charge of the company. That would've made my hatred significantly lower.

Sorry, I'm a complete geek when it comes to Alien.

Alien 3 sucked because the ones who had the most creative control over the movie were the producers. Which is always a bad thing. That and because they bickered like children and went through a couple of different directors during the movie's preproduction. That kind of shake up always screws a movie. And personally, I'd have stopped the movies after 2. 2 was such a great movie(one of my favorites), and it would've been best for them to quit while they're ahead.
But yes, Biship is an android.

A little floor spice makes everything nice...
