CRASH

I'm sure it's been discussed already, but this film is a f*cking masterpiece.

That's all.

Yeah it was incredibly cheezy. Aside from that, Matt Dillon and Ryan Phillipe owned as usual

I thought it was the best movie of the year - but I didn't see everything either.

I've heard that this was sort of a litmus test for critics - some took the bait of its manipulative, false and shallow portrayal, citing it as "one of the best films of the year." Luckily, others were not fooled as easily.

How can that possibly be the best movie of the year? (2005, I mean). Hustle and Flow came out this year. Batman Begins came out this year.

Busy, busy Kyle. You doing ok?

I just thought CRASH was well written, acted, directed - well done! But I enjoy movies like that, so my opinion may be a bit tainted!

Can't wait to see what comes out for the holidays - to see if anything is going to standout.

you know it might have gotten a little over the top or eccentric at times but you have to admit EVERY race is racist even if they dont mean to be and its funny because the more racist people get it starts stereotypes and just increases racism. Hate spreads faster then anything else in this world... this movie did a good job at showing us just how bad racism still is in everyday life

Come on. Driving down any street in America should be enough to tell you that racism is still intricately linked to our national identity.

Certainly NOT a masterpiece. Hardly above average. The acting was poor and everything was over the top. And I agree with Evan and HDK, you don't need to watch CRASH to see racism. It's life, and this film doesn't do a good job of expanding on it. Magnolia, on the other hand, is a good example of a film that does the whole intertwining stories theme very well.

I don't know about Masterpiece. True, it was well written, directed, acted, and whatnot, but it's still nowhere near a real masterpiece (e.g.-Star Wars IV, the Godfather II, On the Waterfront, etc). Think about it, if this is a masterpiece, then that would mean Magnolia was also a masterpiece...we all know that's not true.
