I am very enraged about what the Chinese government is doing to its people to make room for The Olympics...but wow...that opening ceremony was out of this world.

A good time to be alive, some great movies on the way. And this is why people hate USC students, we're jealous.
Oh yeah and Brain I live in San Jose, Ca.
Did anyone get a chance to check out that short you can buy on Itunes called "I love Sarah Jane"? I love seeing what shorts actually get in since mine have been rejected!

I just saw Pineapple Express last night, and it was pretty funny. Not really a whole lot of substance (well story wise), but it had some pretty awesome moments, and James Franco was pretty perfect.
I saw the preview for Miracle at St. Anna, and it looks pretty interesting.
Pineapple Express had its moments, but there was room for improvement in the plot department. I'd say James Franco played that role pretty well though. Overall I enjoyed it though.
Haha, yeah the plot was ridiculously thin and contrived, but I think that was partly intentional. At least I hope. Nonetheless, I laughed my ass off for pretty much the whole time. Fun experience.

I was so disappointed at being the only one who laughed- in the entire theater- at "Looks like dinner's gonna be cold tonight, mother****er!" I thought that was one of the best moments of the entire film.

I laughed at that line. I was also pretty entertained by "you puked on my printer" and the God's vagina line. There was some pretty funny dialogue, even if there wasn't much plot to string it all together.
It had more plot than most comedies. It was more comedy/action really, and it really wasn't strictly a "weed movie". I've never smoked and I enjoyed it thouroughly. I really enjoyed the last scene, it ended perfectly without any unecessary wrap ups in the story.

well we know Green has sold out for sure now, too bad cause GEorge Washington is a great film, now he's REMAKING Suspiria pienapple express? I looked at the preview 3 different times for a few seconds and each time i looked it was exploding, the dialogue and plot sounds so horrendous and the actors in it are genuine at being so great arnt they? I just read an interview with GReen "You can make weed jokes all day — and we've all seen those movies that fail — but if you have something more than that, then it works." NO it doesnt. cause the movie shouldnt be about any of that, you shouldnt even say its in a "weed genre" whatever the hell that means! I made a "weed" movie than apparently, yet i only did it cause it was the one thing i could pay my actors off with and make the mwant to be in my movie! And there's not a single joke in it! or a plot turn because of "weed" Maybe thats why i dont release it cause people are gonna complain "this isnt a weed movie!"

It was a smoker comedy/ action hybrid. I think anybody you talk to about it would tell you that. But it doesn't sound like you're giving it much of a chance if you can't even watch the whole trailer. But regardless I thought it had better actors and more humor than most "stoner" comedies. It wasn't perfect but it was funny enough for me.
well we know Green has sold out for sure now, too bad cause GEorge Washington is a great film
How the hell did he "sell out"? How old are you, seriously? I'm not trying to bash you or insult you, but I thought you were older, like in your early 20s. But most of your typo-laden, ignorant sounding posts lead me to believe you're 14 or 15, tops.

well Mr Hatts you'd have to go back in time to hear GReen's words spew BS, here's something he said about Kevin Smith & Clerks, " He kind of created a Special Olympics for film. They just kind of lowered the standard. I'm sure their parents are proud; it's just nothing I care to buy a ticket for."
"now if you think about it, what is this guy doing working with the superbad idiots? Cause Ive seen half of both superbad and knocked up and I could not STAND it (talk about 14 years olds!) and then we have the director of their newest project and he seemed to have forgotten that he dissed on "immature humor" in films like Kevin Smith (who pretty much reinvented it) And Clerks is VERY much a stoner film.
have you seen George Washington? You probably wouldnt like it if you like Superbad and Co.
"you're giving it much of a chance if you can't even watch the whole trailer."
thats right I'm not giving it a chance. what do i need to give it a chance for? Everytime I looked at the preview it looked like half of the other films in theatres, oh so its probably better than the OTHER stoner movies? Guess what those movies are all horrible and pointless too, maybe i see a bad pattern? next thing you're gonna tell me is that im not giving "super high me" a chance even tho Ive been smoking for years, maybe thats why i dont care about a movie that has a guy smoking for 30 days! Maybe thats why i dont care about "supersize me" cause i have self control to not eat burgers everyday. All of these movies are POINTLESS, now go ahead and tell me I am immature and pointless aswell for not wasting my time on "moovies" they are lke cattle, they are put in the machine and out comes a pretty little digestable package.
Where the hell is the art?
I am just really dissapointed here cause like Isaid about GEorge Washington, its a great film and I was looking forward to Green's next work, but he does this crap instead and now is REmaking that Suspiria movie. how lame!
personal story; I was in highshool and my art teacher knew I didnt like making the art projects she assigned, so she said i could keep making movies (since i was no longer in the media class) so anyway I didnt do my movies either, in fact I remade one of the movies I had done the year before for media...my art teacher gave me an A for my project...but guess what? She eventually found out I had simply remade that project over again. And she marked my grade down to a C. That changed my life forever, to question the purpose of remakes. as much as it doesnt seem fair my grade would be marked down, it was her MATURE view point about art I hadnt understood yet, and I thank her so much for the way she did that cause it really made me think!
so whenever people dont understand why i complain about things (especially remakes or Batman or genre films) its because I failed my art class cause I did the same thing! I am extremely bitter against those films cause they are getting away with it!

I'm surprised that anyone could be influenced by their high school art teacher or take a letter grade in art seriously. Have you heard the expression (cough cough) get over it?

Karen you are very ignorant to say that. I take something/am influenced by people all the time, and being stuck around teachers half my life kinda has an effect. Mostly negative to be honest...and It wasnt till a while after I had gotten that grade that i realized what she ment and why it was important to her, and that rubbed off on me cause its the truth. You either are gonna be a hack or you're gonna do something different, not easy.
I didnt care about the art grade, but my parents did of course and got mad at me about it. its not the grade that is the subject here, its the statement she made with it. and that means a lot to me now
