Wow. Has anyone else seen the trailer for this movie? I've been obsessing over it since I discovered it on Yahoo! Movies last night. The film, to be released later this year, is a musical/romance/60's era film strung together by Beatle's songs. From what I saw in the trailer, this movie could be absolutely stunning. The last 30 seconds or so is especially incredible, hinting at what look magnificently cool psychedelic scenes. I personally can not wait for this to come out. Does anyone feel the same way?

Looks good.

But that's just my opinion. I could be wrong.

I just bought the "Hard Day's Night" DVD for 10 bucks and loved it, especially the opening scene when girls are stampeding and the 2 performances of "I Should Have Known Better." "Can't Buy Me Love" and "All My Lovin'" each had good montages too, and the very end sequensing of sonmgs and fans going increasingly louder and crazier realy, REALLY freaked me out too.

Although, the last Beatles movie I remember seeing that came out was that god-awful "Sgt. Peppers" movie, what a disaster...

...but this looks pretty much like a "Moulin Rouge" knock off in style and sound (at least the more Broadway/****ty American Idol/modern pop tone of the songs)

so what is are we going to have next, a "Pet Sounds" movie? A "Stairway to Heaven" movie? A "London Calling" movie? A "Thriller" movie? A "Girl You Know It's True" movie? I didn't like either "Tommy" or "The Wall" but they probably made alot of money and sold alot of soundtracks, which this will do too.

Personally, I just put on my "Sgt. Peppers" CD and let the far superior images in mt head take me away, and at least it's got "She's Leaving Home" "Within You Without You" and "Lovely Rita" which may not get played on the radio much but are too perfect to pass up (though I've never heard "A Day in the Life" either on radio, it's too well know to be ignored).

I'll have to watch the trailer. They were shooting it across the street from my apartment for ages. Lots of rain and period cars at odd hours.

I have a feeling this will just be an o/k movie with bad-mediocre script, bad-mediocre directing, and bad-mediocre acting strung together with music that everybody and their mothers loves, with the Beatles soundtrack. The Beatles are great, no doubt, and I will probably end up watching this, it's just I think it will be overhyped and underwhelming with a select few people who are just blinded by the extremely engaging music who will come away from the film thinking they had just seen the single greatest thing ever created by man.

Why is this playing in such a small selection of theatres! Makes me a little angry.

I've been looking forward to this for a long time but unfortunately it's not playing here in Nashvegas for some reason...

I'm a big fan of Taymor's previous work. Still hoping they'll decide to bring it here eventually.
