I went to go see Constantine with some of my buds today hoping to see a dark action flick with a great plot, but it turns out its just like any other comic book movie.just kinda blah. It was kind of slow, the plot was ok but was kind of flawed at times and the pacing was off. There were some pretty cool SFX and action sequences but nothing to go gah gah over, and most of the movie was kind of predictable with only a few scenes that might cause a youngster to think scary. Oh ya and dont go in expecting to see great acting from Keanu, his performance was terrible. This is one I would reccomend seeing, but dont bother going to the theatre just wait until its on DVD.

When has Keanu's acting ever been good?

Just saw this movie. Garbage. Terrible acting, confusing plot, awkward pacing. What genre is this film? Not scary enough to be horror. Hardly any action, the only good action scene lasts about 1 minute and looks like a video game. Tries to be funny but fails miserably. Some unintentional humor. Ok CGI. Some characters disappear for a while and then return when needed. Why was this rated R? There was hardly any gore or anything. They seem to make up their own rules about exorcisms and traveling to hell whenever they want but they never really explain anything. This movie blows. I wish Keanu Reeves would really get lung cancer so then maybe we wouldn't have to hear his terrible acting ever again.

i saw Constantine in theatres wit my friend.

What a big letdown. the first 10 mins. of the movie throws u off, makin it seem like its gonna be full of action, but it was mostly 2 and a half hours of talking, and a 30 second scene of keanu shooting demons.

unless ur a hardcore fan, i wouldnt reccomend it

I liked it, then again i like Van Helsing too. I'm just easy to please I guess. Personally I enjoyed the slower pacing, and thought htere was some nice casting in there (satan and Gabriel in particular)

what really blows my mind is how Keanu keeps getting roles. we know the only reason he was good in Bill and Ted's was because the director just told him to be himself, but haven't they learned their lesson by now?

When the script calls for bland, dreary monotone talent.

But you know there can't just be one type of actor. Reeves is just a different flavor: like that pureed peas and vanilla chocolate snowball that nobody buys except the adventurous ones.

I think they toned it down too much - they basically turned Constantine (a right b'stard in the comics) into Neo. The bit where he sacrificed himself to safe the woman's soul was the biggest change (in comic he tricked the devil into saving him - it was self perservation not heroism) or maybe that Gabriel was polerised into an insane villan.

I didn't think the acting was that bad, the script seems to haev been written round Keanus Reeve's acting and everyone elses was fine. I could follow it because I had read the comics - I think it would have been hard to without knowing the story.
