I saw this movie today right before I saw Lost In Translation, which was probably for the best. This is a total geek out movie, if you can't stand the concept of werewolves fighting vampires than avoid it like the plague, because that premise is what makes this movie cool at all. After hearing a lot of crap reviews from people who I thought otherwise would enjoy this movie, I didn't go in having high hopes for this one. I'm pleased that it wasn't the waste others were saying it was. There were two pretty big flaws though. The first being a major character who seriously couldn't act his way out of a paper bag. Not that anyone in this movie gave Oscar winning performances, it's just that this guy Sucked, yeah, with a capital "S." He must've slept with a producer to get that role. The second strike were the action scenes. If you got a movie pitting werewolves versus vampires, it'd be nice to see some actual fisticuffs and not try to get out of it with rather lame shoot outs. Also, when a werewolf does get a chance to claw the **** out of a vampire, it was lamed up by the lack of spewing blood, scratch marks on the vampire, or even a torn shirt. So, for the real strong point of this movie, get this, its story. It had a great little story that actually wasn't fully developed until the end. It actually makes you go "what the hell?" until about the last twenty minutes when everything's explained. It wasn't terribly complicated, just a good little story about why the feud is going on. Also, it was a good choice to wait to the end before explaining everything. I was hoping this would be another geek favorite like Equilibrium, and where as I reccomend fans of vampires or werewolves or action movies to go see it, I just don't think it will be.
Here are the Pros: -Awesome Idea and Concept -Some pretty decent shootouts -Cool Style
Cons: -Horrible Dialogue, They literally had to tell you what was going on for you to understand the plot and thats the sign of a poor movie. -As said before, poorly developed plot could have been much better and didnt understand much till end.
Overall: Worth-seeing in theaters. It wasnt great, but still pretty good and better then the reviews depicted.

maybe it was the theaters print but did anyone notice how when Victor was fighting Thomas (the super duper werewolf/vampire!) the color scheme changed from blue to more normal shade? at a completely random time?

All in all it was a good flic, I don't think this will be one that I will add to my DVD collection as I was just expecting more, even with the bad reviews.

There was absolutly no plot. It was a two hour long fight scene. There was no dialogue. There's like 10 words in the first 20 minutes of the movie, and after that it was just cheesy banter. What was the deal with like half the people having british accents and the other half having american accents? Visually it was pretty cool but that can't keep my interest for two hours.
