i began seeing the beggining of this film last night. i was blown away by the first couple of minutes, though the DVD crapped out on me, but hopefull Netflix will fix the problem.

but . . . is this film as good as its begining? if so, can't wait to see the entire film.

I was shocked by how much i liked it. i saw it in the theater. I had seen blood, guts, bullets, and octance, not thinking it was anything speacial. So i was surprises Narc was more than trash action, IMHO.

I need to rent it again.

Well its damn near impossible to keep up with the momentum that opening has, btu NARC comes as close as possible. There are some truly great scenes in that film. Really amazing stuff. Deffinently worth your time.

Good commentary too. What's interesting about it is the director does his commentary with the editor by his side. They really have great chemistry. It's not wonder the film is so damn good. A great suprise too, because I wasn't expecting much.

i really wasn't as big a fan of this movie. my friend had reviewed it (http://www.lone-palm.net/archives/000062.php) and gave it tons of praise so i guess i was expecting too much out of it. i dont know. it just didnt do much for me. though the story was good and pretty original, it just didnt capture me like a zero effect did. (even though these two movies have nothing in common, it was the first title that poped into my head)

Zero Effect rocks! That is some of Bill Popes best D.P. work. If you havent yet, see that film.

Didnt like this film that much. I turned it off when they did the picture in picture. I used to be able to handle it, but after watching what "Hulk" did, I can't stand it, and I have to turn off the movie. As a DP myself, Picture in Picture just goes against everything I was taught.

I will say though, that opening scene...WOW!
