I think you mean Dawn of the Dead. I think that it sucks there remakeing a classic. they should give the money to George Romero so he can make his fourth Zombie film.

This is probably the ONE remake I'm not against in a long line of remakes.

But then again, I don't want it to be remade. I dunno what I want.

But I like Dawn of the Dead too, but I felt it was kinda long and had really boring parts...plus the zombies were blue and that was kinda stupid (yes I know Romero was going for a comic book look but c'mon, blue zombies?) so anyways the reason I DON'T WANT them to remake it is cause there is too many censorships. Back when it was made anything could go into theatres and video...chicks having sex, being rapes, heads being blown off, penis' bit off, ect...today all that stuff is censored and shît. I don't know what happened either. What I liked about Dawn of the DEad was the blood and gore, it was awesome and over the top. No way in HELL can that be done today. MPAA will butcher the fil mwith a chainsaw...but if they let the filmmakers do whatever they want and not cut the gore, it'd be awesome.

But of all the living dead movies they remake this one? I agree with you Ewk, give Romero the damn money to make another Zombie movie the WAY HE WANTS. NOT SOME GAY ASSED DAY OF THE DEAD CRAP.

Don't they realize that if a NEW living dead movie comes out by ROMERO more people would be happy and wanna see it? Plus be totally sweet?

As far as remakes go I'm not against 'em as long as the origional A) wasn't very good, or B) the remake is done in a totally different fashion. As far as DOTD goes it doesn't need a remake, so the new one better be damn innovative. My same argument goes for Charlie and the Chocolate Factory remake. The new one better be creepy or crazy or sumthin, cause there is no way to beat the origional if they just try and remake it verbatim.

Perfect example of how much of a tool Tim Burton has become. First planet of the apes now this?

Wonka is a perfect film in everyway, making it creepy would be making it retarded.....he'll do what he did to Planet of the Apes....the monkeys went from "human type monkeys" to "monster type monkeys" he'll do that with oompa loompas. Oompa Loompas are "funny little people who sing" Burton will make them "Insane little people that molest the children"

Tim Burton needs to stop being a dumb head.

Whatever a "Dumb head" is.... Eek

Actually I know a couple guys in Canada that are Ubber Zombie fans. They live near where it was being filmed, so they tried out and got hired as background zombies. While they were being fitted for their zombie gear their zombie "acting" got them upgraded to front line zombies which meant they got additional prostetics and even contacts. They just got off the shoot and said the movie is looking to be pretty damn cool even though they had mixed feelings going in. Only time will tell if it was worth the trouble.

I hope that by the time the remake of Dawn of the dead is in theaters Romero will already be in production on Dead Reckoning the fourth living dead film.

oh one thing I forgot to add with new gore films like cabin fever coming out maybe the studios will be looking for films like that and it will be easier for romero to find money.

so? Why does it need to be remade? It's not like anything was WRONG with the original? He's gonna turn it into some sort of a nightmare world which is the opposite of what the original was.

STUPID IDEA

Ya actually Kyle this is remake number two. Night of the Living Dead was remade in 1990-91. It was directed by Tom Savini, who is known for his make-up effects. Yet it was still done shot for shot, mainly because the original is of course B/W and the concluding two are colour. So why not "remake" the first one for better picture quality? I don't think that's such a bad idea, you know. I know many people that can't stand B/W movies and even I couldn't watch them until I learned to appreciate movies. The first "remake" of the series has led the way for the rest of the trilogy to be "remade" and that's all I have to say.

I don't consider the remake of Night of the Living Dead a film...I consider it crap. Did you know Tom Savini basically got screwed over in post production? Matter o fact, he wasn't involved in post production. They did it without him even though he was the director and wanted to be there during editing (wouldn't any director wanna be there to edit?)

The original NOTLD is a classic, black and white or not....it started something.

a guy on the imdb.com forum for the remake of "DAWN OF THE DEAD" claims he has the storyline for the film....read what he says http://imdb.com/title/tt0363547/board/nest/2014846, dude, this plot sounds so goddamn retarded I started laughing thinking it was a stupid joke. And I'm still not sure if the guy who posted it is an ass hole or if it's real. But c'mon, the plot sounds RETARDED and only connection to the original is a shopping mall. Roll Eyes
