I just want to say to anyone who hasn't seen/heard of his work, to go out and watch any of his three films (Bottle Rocket, Rushmore, and Royal Tennenbaums). All three are exceptionaly writen character pieces (yes, characters...the part of a script all too often left behind) that are both hillarious and moving at the same time.

He is my personal favorite filmmaker(Rushmore is my all time favorite movie) and in this humble teenagers opinion one of the most important of our generation. CHECK HIM OUT ALREADY.

Yup he's the man. I loved Royal but I was a bit dissapointed in how it was stylized so close to Rushmore, similar shots and set ups. But don't get me wrong they both are in the top 95% of the movies in the last decade. I just hope the next one developes his style a little more unexpectedly.

He didn't exactly pioneer his style with Rushmore, you know. Watch Bottle Rocket if you don't believe me...he has used the same crew and stuff for all his movies.

I just think the leap from bottle rocket was a better progression than that from Rushmore to Royal Tennenbaums. Just an opinion, he's still the man.
