Ya, I really like the look of it. I actually had no idea this was being made until I saw the trailer- was this a Munich-style cover up to protect those involved or something? Or did I just miss it? Just so you know, Angus, it's spelled Cate. No biggie, I'm just a spelling freak.
Actors? What actors?

I strongly disagree. Babel was the most disappointing film I saw this year. Well made but a crappy simplistic script that has no message and more coincidences than should be legal. A major letdown and just as manipulative and false as crash. The Brad Pitt/Cate Blanchett scenes are some of the most cliched i've seen in quite some time. Avoid unless you want to be majorly disappointed.
But that's just my opinion. I could be wrong.

Genesis tells the story of how early man refused God's order to spread out and populate the earth and instead built a huge building/city as a monument to their own independence and power. So God mixed up their languages so they couldn't understand eachother which caused a lot of confusion and choas and made them divide up into smaller communities. Babel (the film) deals with the same theme of tension caused by language differences.

Just thought I'm post the closing line from the review for Babel from Slate.com quote: and in the process makes Crash, another recent film with converging stories and a multicultural cast, look like an undergraduate term paper on race relations.
