Ok so im always behind on these types of things but I JUST now saw vanilla sky. I thought the first part of it was ok but not great, however by the time it got to the end I was loving it! It was a great idea for a movie and once I got all the information at the end I really think its a great movie! Any one else seen it?

Good, but not in my top 20. I thought the premise wasn't fully explored - the ending was kind of a copout. I haven't seen "Abre les ojos" yet. Maybe it will be more to my satisfaction.

Ones of my favs too, the best part though is the soundtrack, every song from Beach Boys to Peter Gabriel to Radiohead to REM to Sigur Ros just fit the movie perfectly. Also the score rocked! Easily the best movie soundtrack.

Definitely one of my favorties. It's like watching an old favorite movie late at night.

And as gangster said, one of the best soundtracks out there.

mike, i'm gettin their dude. you haven't seen nothin yet. i'm movin up north next month, i've got 4 weeks to work really hard on a project before then. i'm hoping to finally make a film that i really want to make. no more of this bull**** spontaneous care-free stuff. anyhow.

about the music, the soundtrack kicked ass. but no one mentioned the original score? nancy wilson, cameron crowe's wife. i'd have the score on cd if it were easier to find. it's a beautiful mix.

evan, you probably would like the original more. as a story, i think it's better put together. but i just can't help but pass up cruise and crowe's combination. plus, the original's darker and more serious and i didn't think the ending was nearly as climatic as the newer one.

just my preferences i guess.

I actually used this film to learn how to edit before I had shot anything, I downloaded it, re-arranged it all and stuff and basically cut off most of the IMO "sap crap" ending that (whether based on the film it remade or not) I didnt like. Basically I had it end during the part where he sees that Sofia is Julie then Julie is Sofia playing to bg music (the same Todd Rundgren song "Can We Still Be Friends?") and all thatn and made it feel (at least to me) more foreign.
