finally we are starting to get a decent run of Aussie films, if we can keep it up the australia industry might rebuild some of the credibility both from aussies and internationally.

never forget, we made the first ever feature film.

cheers

Yeah it was about Ned Kelly. You can see it at that place in Canberra that deals with Australian film history.
I haven't seen any of this years nominated films yet, because they dont usually get shown at the country cinemas. I have to move to Melbourne.
Wolf Creek loooks very scary indeed. Dont know if I really want to see it anytime soon.

Is it that one about people in a car, and it's based on a true story? I was laughing, along with everyone else in the theater, when they played the trailer because it seemed so absurd, but it's amazing what the "based on a true story" line does. Now I want to see it.

Loosely based of a whole load of real situations that have occured over the years, then over dramatised.

I think our efforts in World War One against the Turks are actually more attributed as being the time when Australia became its own nation. (See Galipolli with Mel Gibson, awesome Aussie film by Peter Weir)
I didn't see Wolf Creek cause I'm not a big horror fan, but while we are on the subject of Australian films, I saw "Look Both Ways" and thought it was really well made. Anyone see it?
