I absolutely heart this movie..
I am also very fond of Shortbus , also by the genius writer/director James Cameron Mitchell.

has anyone watched these movies? or better yet, has anyone seen the off-broadway production of Hedwig?

- Aimee Friedland

BTW: if you are at all interested, here is a link of myself singing Wicked Little Town from the movie, (its Gnosis' versiion). Thankyou

Im generally a huge fan of things that are off-the-beaten-path...but for some reason after viewing the trailer for Hedwig, I don't feel a whole lot of inspiration to watch it.

Brain you are doing yourself a huge disservice. hedwig is really an amazing film and its roots in guerilla theatre make the characters represented that much more extraordinary.

Meh. I think I'll give it a shot. Do you think its common enough to pick up at a video rental store?

You should be able to find it at the less conservative video places... I think even blockbuster eventually carried it.

Hedwig is my girlfriends favourite film so it was only a matter of time before she showed it to me. Thinking it was going to be some shallow, song-based chick flick, I was pleasantly suprised.

Apart from what i thought was a good mix of halarity and emotion, the songs were fun and catchy and the characters were developed well. The animation was interesting and was strangely deep, which i liked.

not bad for the directors first film.

Great movie. I knew all the words to every song a couple years ago... I might still.
