Everyone should really go see Spike Lee's the 25th Hour. I really liked it. Definitely one of the best films of 2002. Edward Norton is without a doubt the best young dramatic actor working right now.

I love Ed Norton and Philip Seymour Hoffman, but I did not like 25th Hour one bit. I psyched myself up way too much for it. Plus the trailer made it out to be something it wasn't. It made it seem to be like Ed Norton could have done 1 thing to change everything but it wasn't like that at all. I'm not a fan of Spike Lee but I can see how people would like it. To me it wasn't great but I would still recommend it to others just to see what they say about it.

I have just watched 24th hour, and I have to say
it was not that bad of a film. Edward Norton is
a great actor. But it is also a really racial
film. Well what do you expect from a Spike Lee
joint?????

Who cares if it's racial? If a film touches a subject like that and you think about it or are offended about....guess what? The director or writer achieved what he was trying to do. Either to offend or show the truth...(I think the truth coms more out of Spike Lee films) The world is racist...nobody likes eachother..especially over race and religion.

I don't care if it is racist either, I am just pointing out that there is stuff like that in this film. Oh yeah and it is 25th hour not 24th
hour that is a mistake.

The 25th Hour should be called The 15th Minute, because that's when I walked out of the theater

Hello, I was just wondering exactly what it is about 25th Hour that you all liked? Story, acting, the look of it, feel of it,etc? I am curious because it seems that mostly everyone enjoyed it but they never elaborate on why they liked it. Thanks!

I gotta say that it was Norton's "F*ck You" speech in the bathroom that did it for me. That scene blew me away. The way Spike filmed it and added in the people Norton was talking about during the speech was awesome. The speech is incredibly offensive and I don't support the attitude in the least bit, but it was all in the delivery. That monologue was incredible! Whenever I want to watch a scene from that movie but not the whole thing, that's ususally the speech.

Another scene that blew me away was when Norton tells Barry Pepper to f*ck him up before he goes to prison. Dear God that was intense.

One more thing...

I absolutely LOOOOOVE those shots in the club when the character would appear to be on the dolly with the camera, basically floating through the club. That was so cool, especially with the music.

Ya mean where the actor appears to be kinda on a Jetson's moving floor thing...it's like the actor isn't walking?

If so, the same thing is done in MEAN STREETS where HArvey Keitel is walking through a club snapping his fingers to the music while appearing to be "floating" through. Pretty sweet.

In my top 10.

My favourite, and I think one of the most well shot in any film, was when Anna Paquin and Phillip Seymour Hoffman had the "encounter" in the club. From beginning with Anna walking seductively to the end where Phillip is dumbfounded on a conveyour belt.
