258 million dollar budget to be exact... but regardless of what people think, it's going to make a ton of money and Sony already announced that there will be a Spider-Man 4, 5, and 6.

A spiderman 4, 5, and 6 possibly without Raimi, McGuire, or Dunst. I think that either it wont be made or it wont do well.

yep, that's possible without the current cast and crew. But it will be made... Spidey 3 has already recovered its cost... gathering 375 million just in opening weekend. Sony would be stupid not to... they just might not make it right away.

the main thing i found wrong with this movie aside from being poorly written was the fact that the conclusion that the film comes to did not require sanndman or venom or gwen...they rere just thrown in for no real reason, and the first thing i thought once it was over was "so what was the point of all the other plots?"

I'd rather watch x-men 3 and fantastic 4 again and again than watch Spider-Man 3 ever again. Possibly the worst comicbook movie in recent years. Basically what Evan said is so true... there's no point to the plots and everythign was filler scenes. They would have been so much better off had they skipped the Sandman character and focused on the HArry MJ and Peter relationships... Have Harry with a split personality... and have more of venom.

How old are you? Chill out man. They're just movies. Good ones at that!

But that's just my opinion. I could be wrong.

Movies based off comic books are exactly that, movies based off of comic books. Just have a good time with it and don't try to compare it to The Godfather, The Departed or Life is Beautiful. It's cheesy yes, the acting? Oh so very bad. But I don't care, movies like this make you feel like a kid again. You hope Spidey can save the day, you know he will, but yet we still watch. Just don't try to over think certain movies, you might hurt yourself.

I'm guessing you don't know Kyle very well McLellan...How can you say they're good movies? I have to say, I agree with Kyle on this, no matter how bizarre and cryptically he writes.

The first one is 2 out of 4 for me, the second one is 4 out of 4 and the third one is 3 out of 4 with the note that it is the most entertaining.

I think they deliver inventive exciting action, good performances, creative direction and scripts of variable quality.

But that's just my opinion. I could be wrong.

I think it was exciting much along the lines of X-men 3, actually. The two films are very similar. They were proceded by two better films (much better in the case of X-men), and both took the route of becoming more comic-booky and shoving in as many effects as possible. They were visually exciting, had fun action scenes, bad direction, terrible scripts, etc. In both the filmmakers tried to shove in too much for the film's own good, which is what I think ultimately kept both (especially Spiderman 3) from being much better.

This is really the kind of movie that you can't argue over whether or not somebody should like it, because it really is just a popcorn film. It's meant purely for entertainment, not for its own merit, and so you either were entertained or you weren't. Neither side is right, and neither side can really argue their own point because of the films nature and the nature of its viewers' opinions.

I hadn't yet drawn that comparison between X-Men and Spiderman, and now that you say that, the formula is very similar.

I agree with the first post- not nearly as good as the first two, and I was disappointed. Oh well.
