Stuart, this is unrelated kinda, but I was wondering if you could maybe help me (seeing as u seem to be a kubrick fan) understand why Kubrick had a sudden burn out effect with me, as far as the fact that he was once my favorite director and now I don't give a **** what he does, or did (I guess he's dead now, but u get it)?

The trailer for The Texas Chainsaw Massacre (2003 version) was so good that the movie grossed 80 million at the box office because of it, much more than it had any right to otherwise...

Well Hill Dawson Kane that is a tough question. I certainly don't think he's a novelty (far to talented to be that). But my best guess is that his pieces are far to analytical to have entertainment power that stays. Cause watching his movies sometimes seems like your researching filmmaking. That's my best guess.
I liked the trailers for Forest Gump, Carlitos Way, Gladiator, Road to Perdition and Saving Private Ryan. And also, A Fistful of Dollars. "This poncho belongs to the man with no name." Ahhh, Clint Eastwood rocks.

Actually, i think for one of the dolalr films the trailer has the second greatest tagline ever (I think it was for a few dollars more), "In a place where life has no value, death has a price!"

Interesting factoid about the Shining trailer...apparently when Kubrick sent it to the MPAA for approval, they rejected it because of the "blood in the elevator" shot, so Kubrick went over there and convinced them that the blood was actually rusty water(!), and it got through...wow, either the MPAA must have been pretty clueless back then, or Kubrick might really be the willful psychological genius many claim he is.

I would have to say most Hitchcock movies are great simply because Hitchcock handled them himself. It's great cause in these days when studios just hire some company to do it.
I really love the teaser for The Birds, where Hitchcock is talking about mankind's history with birds and as he's saying it the sound of the birds outside get louder until Tippi Hedren comes in and says "They're Coming!" Awesome stuff.
