Anyone here seen this yet? I haven't got around to doing so yet but I probably will next week. As a huge Bob Dylan fan I'm really looking forward to it. Looks very different to your standard straight-forward biopics, just hope it does justice to the man himself.

It bummed me out that they wouldn't just tell his story, they have to come with this retarded multiple actor angle. I get it that they are embodying different aspects of his career and mythology hence "I'm not there" but I love biopics and this could have been a great one.

But I havn't seen the movie so that makes me a sh_thead for even commenting on it.

you're thinking right tho Redking, and liek isaid there has already been docs done WHILE Dylan was in his creative days. So what do we need all these idiots bopping aorund pretending to be him? imagine if someone made a movie about you with 10 diff actors, who the hell would play me? Dylan is done and over with. There's a lot more important musicians coming out every day that NO ONE hears about. making God status films only reduces their voices more. **** movies.

haha Kyle I thought you meant the full name of the documentary you suggested was "Don't Look Back And Eat The Document"...so needless to say I was searching fruitlessly for it on youtube.

I think if the script is well-developed and meaningful, it will be absolutely great.
However if the multiple-character aspect exists only for the purpose of being an "instant quirkiness/originality" gimmick I will be very disappointed.

no, Eat the Document was filmed a year after Dont Look Back and was edited by Dylan himself.

I loved it. Finally a "biopic" (or maybe anti-biopic) with more than an ounce of originality. Great experience.

Saw this yesterday.
Great film. Up there with the best I've seen in a long while. Blanchet is extraordinary, but that's not to say the other actors weren't great too.
Brilliantly written and cleverly executed, and obviously one of the best soundtracks you'll find.
Overall this was a great film.

As a Dylan fan, I loved it. I thought the way they made it using 6 different actors was brillant, it was made exactly as it should of. The fact that Todd haynes used such in unorthadox way of putting this together, and putting it together successfully, where it didn' miss a step amazes me. I'm bummed though that it's out of theatres already. Oh, well, Hope Cate wins at the Oscars!
