Man this movie is so awesome. Why? Well when I first saw Pulp I was in 8th grade, I watched it on a Saturday afternoon on edited TV. I thought the whole movie was so awesome (I only saw the last 40 min) I mean, the movie had to be good if just seeing 40 min and being edited for TV inspires me to be a filmmaker.
When I finally saw it unedited I was like ,"whoa" This movie is just PERFECT to me on every level. For one look at the cast....can someone say ALL STAR?! The coolest cast EVER and each actor played their part PERFECTLY...It was like you forgot who the actor was, cause they got so deep into character PERFECTLY!!!
Then there was the story, so original, so awesome, so cool.
One of my favorite aspects of the film is the lighting....the whole look of the film is so perfect....its got these dark shadows and everything in the background stands out and has perfect lighting....or lenses....whatever...I don't know all this mumbo jumbo.
The dialogue.....why can't more movies be like Pulp Fiction? Not as it's style, but it's dialgoue? Why can't movies just have characters TALKING? Most movies think character development is a character talking about how they felt when their grandma died...yeah, ok....BORING. The dialogue in this film is so great and realistic, and what makes it so perfect too is the delivery by the actors. Tarantino is the best dialogue writer in film in my opinion. I don't think hardly anyone comes close.
I think this movie should have won Best Picture...Forrest Gump was good, but Pulp Fiction....I can't even EXPLAIN that well why I love this movie so much, its just I love it. I think its a lot harder explaining why you like a film. It's easier to tell why you don't like a movie I think, but loving a movie, you can't explain.
I think this movie is perfect in everyway. Theres not a single part I don't like...I love everyscene, every second. I still don't understand how this film could be so perfect...
Whats your guys favorite scenes from Pulp Fiction?
My favorite part in the whole movie (which I can watch a million times without getting bored) is the moment Butch (Brice Willis) pulls up to the apartments to go get his watch....all the way to Butch and Fabienne leaving on the motorcycle...that is my favorite part. My favorite SHOT in the movie is the steady cam following Butch through the side of the apartment and going through the field....I don't know why I like it, but just something about it.....it's just an awesome scene/shot.

Most the movie was made up of the same word...The F-word. Not too deep of dialouge there.
"Pain is temporary, Film is forever"-Peter Jackson
"Art only does so much, and sometimes it doesn't even pay the bills!"-AFC President
Welcome to the real world. I hear that word a million times a day. our society is made up of people who swear and cuss....it' the cool thing to do
But seriosuly, thats how people talk.
But I wasn't refering to the words used in the dialogue, but the general dialogue. If you took out all the fould language I would still love the film, I love listening to their stories, thoughts, and ways of treating eachother. It's called character development.
But most the word f u c k was used appropriately...Tarantino wasn't glroifying the word. He, like most of America, grew up and is AROUND foul mouthed people. Thats how people talk. Most movies use the word f u c k violently and with agression....Pulp does this too, but not a lot, most of it is just casuall talking. This is how people talk.
I could go on, but I feel Roger Ebert explains it best in THIS article.
my favorite part would be the scene where the "accident" occurs up until the wolf leaves. thats what i loved about pulp so much, all the weird random stuff that happens, like seinfeld unloading his revolver on jules and vince and bruce finding um...someone in the bathroom.

Ever notice that whenever Vincent goes to the bathroom something BAD happens?
1. Vincent goes to the bathroom in the restuaraunt, only to return to find the robbery mexican standoff.
2. When Vincent goes to "take a piss" in Mia's house, Mia takes Vincent's heroine (Which she thinks is cocaine) snorts it, and passes out. Vincent returns to find Mia on the floor half dead.
3. Finally, Vincent while staking out Butch's apartment, goes to the bathroom only to come out to find Butch aiming a MAC-10 at him, Vincent.
Anyway, Forrest Gump is my favorite film of all time for many a reason, and deserved best picture. Had they not been the same year, then defintely pulp fiction. easily over philadelphia, even silence of the lambs, and that was one good movie.

Oh man yes, that hallway shot looks so beautifull. With the lights reflecting off that "orange" hue along with the camera staying at the door whileJules and Vincent walk down the hall and talk. Really great camera work.
Do you guys like Pulp Fiction more or Reservoir Dogs. Me personally, I dig Dogs more. Also someone once asked me, "What is Pulp Fiction about? Not what happens or the synopsis, but what is Pulp Fiction REALLY about?" I thought this was one of the best questions anybody has ever asked me. I have my own answer, but would like to hear what your thoughts are.
As far as my answer goes I can sum Pulp Fiction up in one word: XXXXXXX
"You may have seen more movies than me, but I've MADE more than you."

To tell you the truth, i just saw Reservoir Dogs yesterday. For the first time. Loved it. I think i still like Pulp Fiction better. The dialogue is amazing. I think Tarantino is the best screenwriter, hands down. He could make a movie about two guys sitting on a couch talking and it would be a hit. The dialogue would be amazing.
Funny thing, after seeing Pulp Fiction me and myfriend have been calling this one retarded fool at our school "the gimp" It spread like wildfire now everyone calls him that.
