Met all of my expectations. And what's more: it exceeded them.

This movie is extraordinary, with a villain that will fall into my all time favorite top 5.

There's little things that I would have done differently, but the good so out shines the bad, I don't care.

I agree. Watching about the first 45 minutes of the film all i could think was "wtf... doesn't seem that extraordinary, not bad, but typical comic book movie" Then it got dark and so serious and i fell in love with the movie.

I love how parts of the story almost looked and felt like a horror movie or some suspense mystery about a serial killer on the loose. For a minute I Almost forgot what I was watching was about a man in a bat suit lol. I wont give anything away but there were shocks, emotions i didn't expect, and I particularly liked how they took the line between criminal and average citizen and showed how desperation can make the line between the two almost non existent.

I had a horrible day at work today i was exhausted ( leaving the theater at 2:30 getting home at 3:00 being up at 5:45 BLEW!) But i feel like it was all worth it and I am definitely going to see this film again because Im sure i missed some of those little messages that, for me, make a film so amazing.

Sure it had its cheesy moments... but id have to say just like Batman Begins (which blew me away) it took an idea, a story you saw in comics and KNEW it could never really happen... and weaved it in with real life to the point where after all of their explanations of gadgets and origins i actually felt like saying... Holy **** this really could be real lol

I think what i liked most about the film was how it really felt like a complete story, from start to finish. I thought that the plot fit together in a very satisfying way..... also the Joker is scary as hell. The scene where he is in the nurse outfit and walking away from the hospital was just...iconic.

I'm perfectly content not seeing this movie.
In fact I would probably go as far to say that I would decline a free ticket.

Yes, that nurse scene was chilling. And his "magic trick" involving the (pencil?) was terrifying.

Two face was done perfect.

I like how both Batman Begins and this one started off as its own piece and wrapped up that story, but left enough to where they could make a third one.

There's really no cliff hangers going on. (POTC: Dead Man's Chest comes to mind).

I loved the development between Alfred and Bruce throughout the movie.

The gadgets were slightly more over the top this time, but they weren't as distracting like the bat-summoner in Batman Begins.

I'm seeing this in the theaters again while I can, because this movie deserves it.

Joker has landed a place in the Top 5 villians in movies, and this movie is quickly settling into my top 10 favorite movies.

Well I am glad you like it, and I'm sure its a great film...its just really not the type of thing I get excited about or enjoy.

Ah, I'm just giving you a hard time. This is just THE movie I've been looking forward to all year, and not really looking forward to anything else.

I enjoyed the movie a lot. This Joker is easily the best comic book movie villain ever. As enjoyable as it was I think that there were still a lot of obvious flaws, mainly with the writing.

My biggest problem with the movie was Two-Face. I liked Harvey Dent in the story, but as soon as he turned into Two-Face it really detracted from the Joker story line for me. I wish that they would've cut Harvey Dent off as soon as he got burnt, but I think that they thought they had to make Rachel dying actually have some importance to the movie. Which it really didn't do much at all for the Batman vs. Joker story line.

I've always liked Nolan's writing and he was always good at dragging you in and not making you question things, but this movie was just so hard to really get too immersed in if the Joker wasn't on the screen. It's just disappointing that with all the really iconic things that happened in the movie that the writing wasn't good enough to really make it go down as an excellent movie, just an entertaining one.

And seriously a 9.5 on imdb? Hopefully that goes down, but I have a feeling it's going to stay much higher on the list than it deserves.

It is seriously ranked #1 of all time on IMDB currently. I find that frankly blasphemous.


Hopefully the rating will go down as the less biased people filter in their reviews.

Well I thought Christian Bale was pretty weak as batman. While Heath Ledger was amazing!! He kept me on edge throughout the movie and every scene with him got a big reaction from the audience. Especially the magic trick lol. I didn't understand christian bale (when he is batman) and he talks and breathes to hard at the same time, like he is out of breath. That was kinda annoying. But overall it was a great movie! It was definitely better than spiderman 3. I think I give it an 8.5, no a 9 might do.

I saw it Thrusday (after 12) at 2:40am and I remember walking out of the theatre around 6am lol.

The movie was WAY overhyped. Heath Ledger made it worth seeing, but I had a few problems with it.

I was very disappointed in the film. First off Gotham itself is always a great character in all adaptations of the Batman story but in this film it was simply downtown Chicago shot in the daytime, just awful. While ledger's Joker is outstanding it can't patch up the soap opera-like plot twists and just plain horrible dialogue. "Tell your men they work for me now." c'mon that's hardly Oscar worthy. And I only say that because they have been talking Oscar for this 180 million dollar misfire. Plus every time Bale talks in that super-gruff voice he puts on as Batman I got doosh-chills. Very embarrassing.

Until Frank Miller makes the Dark Night Returns we'll have to keep watching Tim Burton's film as the only real Batman Movie.

Ok, as much as I love Tim Burton (my #1 favorite film director), why is everyone so in love with his Batman movie?

I'm sorry, but the film was darn near flawless. I've never been to a film screening where everyone was so utterly in awe of what they were watching.

And I'm sorry, but I found Ledger's Joker to be astonishing. It will be legendary. It may very well be my favorite acting job — ever.

Also, for the record, the magic trick is possibly one of the best movie moments ever (my theater exploded when that happened - everyone was simultaneously roaring in shock and awe and completely speechless).

Man, Wall-E and The Dark Knight within weeks of each other...I just don't know what to do with so much awesome.

here is why this movie shines for me:

it is a $180 000 000 hollywood blockbuster, and while it has everything that makes it a saleable summer movie, it really tries to put the characters in tough situations, and really examines what the true nature of what heroism is all about... It has a bit more going on that lets say...transformers did. I think that it is more challenging than your average blockbuster action flick, and that is what makes it stand out to me. It is the kind of hollywood film that they need to try to make more of. Something that challenges the audience a little.

I thought the movie was great, but without Ledger, it probably just would've been another decent batman flick from Nolan. He was nothing short of amazing I thought with the way he reinvented Joker. I honestly don't remember a whole lot about the Batman/Bruce Wayne character in this film. The Joker and Harvey Dent were so much more intriguing. I plan on seeing it again.

Exactly. Though, admittedly, it was a bit less funny in Batman Begins:

"I swear to god!"

"SWEAR TO ME!!"
