You guys watching Swordfish tonight at 9 on CBS? Probably not, but I am. For some reason, I really, really like this movie and I think it's one of the best cyber-thrillers I've seen, if not one of the best thrillers altogether. Now, I know why I shouldn't like it...the dialogue and plotlines are a tad cheesy, and nudity and terrorism themes are superficially thrown around like hot potatoes for entertainment's sake, but it still doesn't take away from the fact that Swordfish is definetley one of my favorite movies. Maybe it's because of the overall fresh, cool style of the movie that the cinematography, editing and music so powerfully convey...maybe it's because of the slick, brutish, deliciously jaded world around the main characters that the filmmakers convey...maybe it's because of the great casting and great acting that results...or maybe it's just a cyber popcorn movie that computer geeks like me can enjoy for a quick thrill. But whatever the reason, I think this is definetley a movie the typical action, thriller, or cyber-thriller buff should see, just to form their own opinion.

Yep. You got it. But I take it from that comment that you don't like Swordfish much. Bummer...but after seeing it last night on CBS, I found myself feeling like the movie was a lot more apathetic and choppy than I remembered (although this could be due to the fact that CBS absolutley BUTCHERED the movie to get it on network TV... ). However, I still really do admire Swordfish, to say the least.
And yes, it is a very geek worthy movie, because the movie centers around computers and it shows them in a very cool perspective. And yes, the opening of the movie is also very cool.
Oh, and Hill Dawson Kane, I've never heard of the movie "Die Another Dya"...
