I know this movie has been out for a while, but I only saw it about a week ago, and wondered what you guys thought of it. I thought Denzil was terrific, and the style was slick but at the same time gritty. It was the little things that got me, like when the time appears on the screen, under the bridge as the watch is counting down. So what did you think? I would also say that the Man On Fire trailer is one of the best trailers I have seen.

I thought Tony Scott over did it WAY too much with the over exposed frames and fast editing. I like Denzel Washington's performance, and the ruthlesness of his character. But by the end of the movie with all that flashing and fast cutting I had a headache.

Spoiler below!!!!!!!

I hated the ending I consider it completely flawed! There was no reason why Denzel's character had to sacrifice himself, the bad guy was motivated enough to want to save his brother. Why 2 lives for one? It made no sense and was added for false drama, and it ruined the movie.

I agree about about it being too over the top, with all the flashing and different cuts, it gave me a bit of a headache i must admit, and thats the first thing I thought Redking, why would Denzil sacrafice himself when he has the mans brother? There was no need.

He sacrificed his life at the end because he was already dieing. Remember how he got shot a bunch of times in the chest in both the middle of the movie and the end? It was based on a true story also if you didn't catch that. He took all the painkillers to thin his blood so he would die quicker.

yup and the funny thing is Tony Scott was one of the directors who wanted to take on the project in the 80's bbut the studio didnt think he could do it. Making the movie now was kind of his way of saying "i made it" I liked the movie alot, the ending was a bit flawwed but the rest of the movie I really enjoyed. Sometimes you can see a movie thats shaky all the way threw and have the ending be perfect and love it. well this was the opposite for me, the ending wasnt the greatest but the rest of the film made me forget about it.
