However they lied about it being the longest shot in film history. I know Andy Warhol made a movie that was just one shot of the Empire State Building for 10 hours straight or show. (from sun-up to sun-down)
And what exactly is the point of Russian Ark having 3 live orchestras?

Second - Russian Ark was not actually a single continuous take. There are 3-5 edits that have been carefully blended in post-production. This could either be due to performance issues or the drives that they used filling up.
It is the longest shot for a dramatic film, in the history of film. Was shot on a HD camera tethered to an array of harddrives that was wheeled on a cart behind the steadicam operator. Incedentally the director of photography and steadicam operator is Tilman Buttner, the steadicam operator behind Run Lola Run.

Probably, but are you sure? How long is the largest uninterrupted take, 30-40 minutes? As I said above, it's misleading to claim that it was all one take.
Interesting. 24 seems to have borrowed the most from this. It's always difficult to attribute it to any one source of inspiration, but this has the split screens, the real-time and Xander Berkeley.
