Just got this on DVD. This movie is one of my pics for the best of the year. Everything about it was awsome. Nightcrawler brought everything the movie needed from the very beginning: The plot, the character, and the motivation.
If you haven't seen this yet I highly reccommend.

Its just a special effect film. Like the Matrix or lord of the rings, or Star Wars. No real reason for it to win best film of the year.

LOST IN TRANSLATION!!

You see, unlike star wars, the special effects drive the plot. Being a special effects movie isn't a bad thing if it is used correctly. If you look past the effects in this and LOTR, and take the effects as real, you see a tightly wrapped story that portrays everything a movie needs.
I was on the edge of my seat everytime a little bit more about wolverine was revealed. Then, there was always how Magneto always managed to end out on top, he always had a plan B ready. Magneto is such an awesome villian.
Unlike most villians, he does not acknowledge he is evil, but believes he is doing the right thing.
So . . . yeah. My opinion is if you look past the effects this movie is still awesome. Big Grin

What i like about this movie is that its NOT a special effects film. Like this year's HULK, this is a character driven film as well...only the latter isn't the daring artistic one. Both are about being accepted in society (hulk on a less scale) and knowing one's self (x2 on a less scale...x1 was higher).

I like X2 and X1...i cant decide which one more. They kinda feel like one movie because they work so well together and i dont consider it just a 'sequel'...just a continuation of the first film.

Rellik, you are absolutley right...I too loved X2 and I think it deserves the title of one of the best movies of the year and one of the few seriously underrated comic book movies out there. There are just so many good qualities about this movie, I don't even know where to begin. Please, everyone who hasn't yet, see X2!

For years and years when I was a kid I prayed that they would turn my favorite cartoon into a movie. When they finnaly made X-men on the big screen I had to say I was a little dissapointed. For me it just didnt show enough of the big fight with Humans and the mutants who thought they were better then everyone. Then x2 came out and I decided to give it a try... my jaw dropped. They did it they made the x men movie I had been waiting almost 10 years to see. I love it I love It I love it. Go see it.

I just watched it again. (2-day time span). Holy crap. It was better the 3rd time around!!!! There are so many subtle actions from the actors that scream how they have mastered their comic counterpart. (Wolverine mostly).
Then, did anyone else get goose bumps when Colossus entered the kids room, turned all metal and then it cuts to the two guys flying through the wall? It was so short and so sweet!

Definetly. The first was like bad. And I was like "Are you sure you wanna make a sequel" and they were like "Yeah, itll be great." And so they made it. And it wasnt great. But it was good.
