I just saw Ocean's 12, and I have to say: It was one of the coolest movies I've seen this year. If I could be one person, it would probably be Brad Pitt.

Ocean's 12 was a lot more film noir-esque than the first (the way it was filmed, that is). But it was a lot funnier than the first too.

Not to mention the fact that Catherine Zeta Jones is probably looking the best I've ever seen her look.

See it!

I can't say that I liked Ocean's 12 at all. In fact, I thought it was horrible. The whole premise was just dumb, I felt like there was no script, I got the feeling that they just threw a bunch of high-paid actors together and said: "OK, Be Funny!".

I can't say there was a plot either. It was an extremely predictable story, only a few minor things surprised me.

The music sounded like 'The doors' set to a 'bee gees' beat with 80's synthesized robotic sounds. I can't say that any of the music would fit into any movie.
I was also unimpressed with the cinemetography. I think that the director used an artistic choice to go for a "70's cop show" look. However, I thought It made it look amatureish. In fact in several scenes, I got dizzy and disoriented from the over-used handheled.

Speaking of over-used shots, things like doing 11 zoom in freeze frames in a row just dragged the movie down. The establishing shots were poor choices, it didn't flow well at all. There were too many main characters to keep up with. I think this was due to many of the smaller actors demanding bigger roles.

Many of the comical scenes would have been funny if they weren't way over-done and if they were shorter. It felt kinda like those saturday night live skits that go on WAY too long.

Overall, I think they tried too hard, spent all the money on the actors, didn't have a realistic story, had a few funny lines, can't argue about Catherine Zeta Jonse, but wasn't worth 2 hours of my time. Life is too short to wast time on this one. I only went because I liked oceans 11.

I thought it was somewhere in between. It was very entertaining most of the time. But I think the story was a little too played out--too many twists and turns. I loved the bit with julia roberts. I agree it's not as good as the original (remake), but it definitely is worth twelve bucks.

HAHA.

Yeah, I wasn't a big fan of the movie either. I saw it on a DLP (projection) and (maybe it was just me) but the handheld (or steadicam) got really annoying and even made me dizzy at times. The whole thing about Julia Roberts pretending to be the "Julia Roberts" seemed like a desperate reach by the screenwriter, as if he was running out of ideas.
