This movie was great. Most people are led away because it's "not a typical Adam Sandler movie". Even though it's not a HappyMadison type movie Sandler still seems to stay true to himself and doesn't seem out of his element or anything. Anyway, it's great. Just watch it.

Thanks. That's one reason I wanted to see it originally - because I think Sandler is a good actor, but I don't really like his "goofy" movies (though I liked HAPPY GILMORE)!

Don't get me wrong, I loved PTA's last two, but couldn't stand Punch Drunk. It had its moments, but was overall too flat and excuriciatingly dull. Too little payoff for such a simple message. Brave filmmaking effort, but not an easy, enjoyable or rewarding watch.

I'd have to agree with Yoss here. It was a nice effort in minimalism and thematic story-telling, but I found it to be overly dull. I liked Adam taking a foray into the more serious of movies, I think he can manage it, this just wasn't the best he could have done. Probably the highlight of that two-DVD set would be the Mattress Man commericial... oi I just watched it over and over... lol --Steve--

I thought it was pretty good. It was very progressive film making. I espcially liked the blue lens flares and the scenes where it was a single shot for like 5 minutes. A lot of people said that Sandler's character was just a polished version of all his previous characters (Happy Gilmore, Billy Madison) but I don't know about that. There was a ton of hilarious idiosyncracies that he had.
Also, the deleted scenes are hilarious. That mattress man comercial and the scene with the little kid left me in stiches.
