Now, since a string of posts on certain commendable movies has been popping up, I must add my own little favorite to the list.

Sexy Beast.

RENT THIS MOVIE. It is a very inspiring movie on many fronts from its entertaining value to its message.

Ben Kingsley shows why he is an actor and not just another god damn celebrity. GOing from the pacifist Ghandi to the downright scary psycho in Sexy Beast, you can truly see a great actor doing his work.

Inspiring? Yes, this is a film made by a first time director Jonathan Glazer.

Yes its true that this movie is somewhat of a gangster film, but it is perhaps the most different gangster movie that I have ever seen. This piece of art beautifully seperates itself from the rest of the trash, being exactly what it is.

Check it out. Tell me what you think. Sexy Beast.

I began watching it, and after about an hour or so stopped it. The film really did nothing for me, I may have missed a few big points concidering I was bored out of my mind... everyone has their own preffered style of filmmaking, this movie wasn't for me. OCEAN'S 11 (shoot me in the face) was a GOOD movie. I love the directors style. Also, you should check out traffic.

P.S.
Does the falling rock have any significance whatsoever?? Wink

I agree MONO!!!!!

Sexy Beast is excellent...I was blown away by the power of this film. Sooooo Damn Good. The dialogue and Ben's performance kick ass. I can't understand anyone not enjoying this film ESPECIALLY a film student/lover. It's amazing.

Ocean's 11 is good too and Traffic is allright. If you like Ocean's maybe you should check out Kubrick's "The Killing" it was part of the inspiration for Tarantino's Reservoir Dogs

"Yeah I think I'll have the calimari"
