I'm going to see Ironman this weekend. Its been getting a lot of praise. I have big expectations for the 4th Indy movie and hope its just like the originals
If it means anything, I won't be seeing Iron Man or Indy or The Incredible Hulk... but I will be seeing The Dark Knight.
To me, it seems like all those films are strictly being made to bank at the theatres. I guess it's foolish to believe Nolan is the only one who can still have us feel something real with a superhero film. Burton's Batman was incredible and will always remain untouched. But with the digital age coming along and nearly 20 years later, The Dark Knight remains true to cinema.
The Fountain, for me, was an amazing experience. Aronofsky has always been one of my favorite filmmakers. I can sit here and tell you how much it made me think and how I could break it down and show what it means to me but I too agree with Evan who said that the film makes you feel.

Indy 4 -- oh man, what a disaster. There are a few glimmers of the old inventiveness, and there is one really terrific scene near the beginning (the refrigerator scene), but in general the acting is garbage, the cutting is horrible, the whole premise has no business in an Indiana Jones story and almost everything that was charming about the first movie was replaced with poop.

This is for everyone who loved, or even liked, the original Indiana Jones films: avoid Indy 4. It will simply degrade your perception of the true Indiana Jones films.
Please, just trust me/every single person who saw the film.

I don't think it was necessarily supposed to be a revival in the trilogy - i think it's more of the film series last breath. They made it as a homage to the fans so I wouldn't dare go into it expecting a film anywhere close to the first three. It's just a fun, popcorn movie - besides, Spielberg has made nothing but sour films (not bad, though) in the past five years.
He's quoted as saying, "This film [Indiana Jones 4] is the sweet desert for those who still had that bitter taste in their mouth from the herbs I used in Munich and my other films."
Truly a great filmmaker! I'm excited to see the fourth film.
Mark, please, please don't see it. You may think you're going to see just a popcorn movie, but you're wrong. You may think it'll be a fun little homage to the originals, but you're wrong. This movie will taint the originals a distinct shade of terrible. I will have to spend the rest of my life trying to erase the film from my scarred mind in order to enjoy the true Indiana Jones films.
It really is that bad. Please don't see it — for your own sake, and to send a message to Lucas, Spielberg, and all Hollywood filmmakers that this kind of travesty will not stand.
