I'm a fan of American Movie as well, though I doubt that i could watch it every day. On repeat viewings, the thing just drags on and on and on.... It's an inspiring tale, though. If you go to americanmovie.com you can read Mark's journal and see what he's working on now. Also, there's a nice American Movie reference in the second part of Todd Solondz's Storytelling... also a great flick. --Alan ------------------ http://www.alandenton.com------------------

I've owned this movie for a year now and I'm glad I found people who also like it. Yay for American Movie!
"It's alright, it's okay, there's something to live for... JESUS told me so!"
"Aww, KICK F*CKIN ASS, I got a Mastercard!!"
"And I woke up in the hospital, so I thought that maybe I could finish those hits of acid in my pocket..."
Besides being a very funny movie, it also strikes deep with me, because it makes me feel good to know that there are others out there with as much drive as myself to make a movie no matter how hight the cards are stacked against you. Everyone should watch this movie.

LOL, Yeah I love this movie as said before, and I agree, everyone should watch this movie. It motivates and stimulates. Mark, although, WT and mullet sporting...he still has a great insight into film making and a drive like no other.
And yes, Coven is on the newer DVD's of the film, actually I'm not sure if there ever was old ones.
Besides filming, the only other thing I ever did good was filming.

Is Mark really that motivated? From what I got out of American Movie (which I really enjoy a lot BTW) is that Mark continually does not perform. That is the kind of tragic part of the film, he has ideas, potential, and money yet he doesn't do anything with it outside of Coven.
He was left the money to make Northwestern. Has he done anything since?

What he needs to do is organize. He's like a teenager making a film...he's using his family as characters for christ sake! Plus he had Northwestern unfinished then he goes making Coven. He needs to stick with one project at a time. Plus get a job...a REAL job...(I realize he has no job...didn't he clean Cemetaries?) He should go back to college and get a descent job to get money...with an actuall crew and GOOD cast he may be able to achieve at being an independant filmmmaker...otherwise his films are probably no better than a sixteen year olds. But then he finaly did I would love to see Coven but I rented the vhs version which does not have it on there, but I know the DVD does.
