Well for those unfamiliar it is a pretty sweet comic and from the looks of it thus far a damn fine comic to film translation. Guillermo Del Toro ( Mimic, Blade 2, Devils Backbone) wrote the screenplay along side the creator Mike Mignola and will direct. Actor Ron Perlman (Alien Resurection, Island of Dr. Moreu, TV series Beauty and the Beast) is starring as Hellboy himself.
All I can say is the pics of him in the prostetic is enough to get me psyched. No movie has come this close to capturing the comics essence and image. Behold..

Dude, that's one of my favorite comics! They better keep the emotion that was in the comics in the movie or it will screw over the whole thing. Thanks for telling us about it Tizzy!

The premise was bassically this... Nazis conjur up a demon (Hellboy) to help them win the war. Yada, yada, yada he is rescued by a profesor who runs a center for paranormal research. The profesor raise him to be good (which you may recal is the polar opposite of evil) and he bassically becomes a superhero. Wait... the comic is released by Dark Horse. Scratch that last comment.
(Fun Factoid Kids:) Both DC and Marvel comics jointly own the rights to the term "Superhero". Use it without their affiliation or express permission and you will find your self in the magical world of litigation.
So he becomes a super human.. er demon, heroic type thing. Along with some other gifted creatures they rid the world of unspeakable evil but never get the glory because they are super secret.
Coolest part about Hellboy? Note the stubs on his forehead where his horns were sawn off! Thia could be good. R. Michael

so bearing taht in mind, perhaps that is why i found myself hysterically laughing throughout the trailer. if you say it captures teh comic book feel i guess you're right because the makeup and prosthetics look rediculously awful. perhaps it is indeed the comic book spirit but umm, im avoiding this one at all costs...unless its bad funny like house of the dead, oh man that was hilarious.
