man this movie was crazy. it's a WW2 movie that actually stays away as much as it can from the sappy war **** that war movies try to put in there. There's ugly **** that goes on, and sweet stuff that goes on, and really it just focuses on the relationships of the characters as they all await the Russian invasion in the bunker with Hitler.
Also there isn't music blaring every second with violins trying to tell you that you're supposed to be sad at a certain point. It just shows you what's going on. very documentary like, although the shots are REALLY nicely structured so it's definitely not a doc.

I live in montreal where we have a lot of universities and thus a really good art cinema house. They were showing downfall and I absolutely loved it. The actors performance as Hitler was so incredibly real. Very good film all in.
