Anyone heard anything about this movie? It has a mix of live action and animation which, in my opinion, adds a pretty cool look to it. It's based on a book written by Phillip K. Dick. Check out the trailer, seems pretty cool.

Shakespeare says "Prose before hoes."

Yeah, I'm eager to see it. I like the book, and Linklater is a major Dick enthusiast (sometimes he just can't get enough Dick), so he'll likely give the story proper treatment.

This movie has been postponed and pushed back like hell, though, because of trouble with the rotoscoping team. I think the release date is set for sometime in June or July, but it could be much later than that with all the production quibbes.

Sounds like "Brokeback Mountain 2"

Not sure if Linklater has the background for this kind of thing. Keanu is ideal casting, though, bringing his Matrix persona into a film taken from a truly original source (that it names in the credits Roll Eyes )

Yeah, now that I consider it, Linklater really doesn't have the background for a film like this. His enthusiasm aside, he hasn't really proven himself capable of writing or pacing a film well. And A Scanner Darkly would need heavy, heavy revision before for adaptation to film. I half expect the entire movie to be two people sitting a room discussing philosophy.

Give me Ridley Scott for P. K. Dick. Accept no substitutes.

Robert Downey Jr., however, should be interesting as always.

Here's a link to that trailer

Very interesting story but the rotoscoping is so distracting, it would be cool in small doses say when a character enters a certain frame of mind or reality but two hours of this might just kill me.
